Founder & CEO
Josh Andre brings extensive experience in defensive tactics, physical training, and disciplined response under pressure.
He is a former member of the elite IDF YAMAS Unit, a specialized undercover counter-terror and special operations force. His background reflects years of operating in high-stress environments where coordination, judgment, and controlled response are critical.
Josh is also a former Chicago Golden Gloves Boxing Champion and holds a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt, combining elite-level striking and grappling experience with a deep understanding of controlled force and personal discipline.
At IDFense, Josh leads defensive skills training, focusing on Krav Maga–based self-defense, physical readiness, and the ability to protect others while maintaining control and restraint.

Co-Founder
Shimi Marom is a certified firearms and self-defense instructor with a background in protective security and community leadership.
He previously served as a security professional with the Shin Bet, including assignment as part of the Israeli diplomatic security detail to the Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations. Earlier in his career, Shimi served in the Israel Defense Forces as a canine handler and trainer, developing skills in threat detection, discipline, and operational preparedness.
In addition to his security background, Shimi is deeply rooted in community leadership. He serves as President of Moriah Congregation and is a father of four, giving him a personal understanding of the responsibility that comes with protecting families and communal spaces.
At IDFense, Shimi focuses on civilian-appropriate training that emphasizes awareness, restraint, legal responsibility, and coordinated response.
